Beautiful Disaster

~Spirit- Chapter 1~

Ever cince she was a smal child Katara had heard tales of what happened to the spirits of dead people after they had died or been killed. But out of all of them, she liked to believe her Gran-Gran and Father's story. They said that when a spirit left its body, it went to a place called "Heaven" not the Spirit World like some believed. When spirits leave their bodies, her Dad had explained, they touch someone. Literally brush past someone on their way up to Heaven. Most of the time this has siginificant meaning, rarely does it not.
Stories like this would lead someone to wonder.... who they would touch when their time came. Katara pondered this every day, of course she found out sooner than she thought she would.
Her death came quick, she was taken away from her friends by a summer fever and constant worry.

She felt him, before she saw him, her white hand brushed against his smooth cheek, and the rough skin of his scar. Katara looked as she went, Zuko seemed... confused, he shook his head and rubbed his eyes as if waking from a dream. As it was she was confused. What possible meaning could her encounter with Zuko have?

During her later days in heaven, she watched Zuko.
The summer fever took his Uncle. Katara saw Iroh in Heaven and wondered who he had touched. She continued to watch Zuko.... he was sharpening a knife.... he wasn't depressed enough to commit sucide was he? Apparently he was, he did.

"My nephew will be joining us soon." Katara heard Iroh say.

Zuko did, Katara saw him, she sighed.
Finally some answers to her questions.....
